AssureTec’s software products are:

  • Reveal-IDTM software adds a “presentation layer” to Assure-ID ProfessionalTM. This allows the user to view all results obtained from the authentication of a document. It also displays all the information and images captured to the user for examination. Several aids are included to magnify the image, highlight regions of interest, and cross reference tests. Information on the authentication results can be displayed. The last 4 transactions are viewable for comparison purposes.The software can be set to run in a “Pop-up” mode to run in the background as an auxiliary function to developer’s application to save time and duplicate effort.
  • Assure-ID ProfessionalTM software to automatically identify IDs of any size or nationality and perform a variety of forensic-quality checks specific to that document type for forgery detection. This run-time environment, which includes the Document Authentication Library, is required for deploying applications written using the AssureID Software Development Kit (SDK). This software cannot be purchased separately — it is bundled with an AssureID-capable document capture device.
  • Assure-ID SDK, which allows software developers to develop identity verification applications for different markets, such as border control, airline passenger information systems, car rentals, financial services, and so on. It comes with everything needed to develop and deploy AssureID-based applications, including an i-Dentify Emulator.

The following is a quick overview of the components of the AssureTec ID Authentication system which are packaged into the above products:

  • Document Capture Device. Whether it’s scanner-based or camera-based, the document capture device is the starting point for document authentication.
  • Document Authentication Platform (DAP). AssureTec’s run-time engine includes the DAP Windows service, which runs on a PC that is attached to the document capture device. The DAP Windows service handles all interactions with the document capture device, starting with the detection of document insertion, capturing of all biographic and security data from the document, to detection of document removal. Along the way, DAP makes these events and data available to listening applications that are built using the AssureID Systems Development Kit (SDK). This unique approach makes it a breeze to develop an ID authentication application using the AssureID SDK.
  • Document Authentication Library. This is AssureTec’s crown jewel — its key competitive advantage. Built painstakingly over several years, this is a secret (encrypted) compendium of the document security features — ranging from the obvious to the most esoteric — of the world’s IDs — over 1,600 to date and growing. Unlike most of the competition, which uses document template libraries, AssureTec uses a very intricate approach which accounts for, among other things, minute variations in legitimate IDs, assuring the best possible results. Tests in the Document Authentication Library are encoded using the Document Authentication Wizard, an AssureTec-internal tool.
  • AssureID .NET SDK and COM SDK. AssureTec’s core technology is developed in Microsoft .NET and thus a .NET SDK is available. However, a COM SDK is also provided for developers who program in other languages such as Java, Microsoft Visual Basic, and Borland Delphi. Both are available in the AssureID SDK product.
