What is the DAP Service? Who would use it and why?
DAP stands for Document Authentication Platform. It is a Windows service that automatically interacts with the device to capture pictures of the identity document in different lighting conditions and authenticates the document. It is installed when you install the AssureID software. -
How do I use your debug log?
We don't provide any help in utilizing this log for your purposes. If you should run into a problem with our software, however, it might be helpful to send us this log file. You'll find it in the log folder under AssureTec\AssureID, starting with the name DAPService. Be sure to let us know an approximate date/time at which you ran into the problem. -
Is your software available in a server configuration? My client uses Citrix-based thin clients for their workstations.
No. This is not currently available, but please email sales@assuretec.com if you have this need. -
Do you support remote or silent installs to deploy in an enterprise environment?
We will starting in Version 3.1, which as of this writing is scheduled for general availability in the latter half of 2007. -
How do I activate your license at the client site, where the workstation has no Internet connectivity?
Precisely for situations such as this one, we allow for email-based manual activation. Here's what you do in such a case. Choose the "Activate Manually via E-mail" option when the license activator comes up. Then choose the "Create activation request file for e-mail" option, at which point, you will be asked to save a file that was created. E-mail that file to licensing@assuretec.com. You will receive another file in return. Then choose the "Install an activated license file received via e-mail" option to install and activate your license. -
Does your licensing scheme involve hard disk- or NIC-specific information? My client wants to be able to replace the hard disk or NIC if the workstation is having a problem, and your licensing scheme could interfere.
Due to the sensitive nature of licensing-related information, we cannot answer this question in a public forum. Contact us -- we should be able to accommodate this type of request. -
What is the process for handling a 2-sided document with the ID-3xx/4xx?
Currently, there is no support for this. We are planning to introduce this functionality in Version 3.1. More details to be revealed with the release of V3.1.
