AssureTec — THE WORLD LEADER IN AUTOMATED ID AUTHENTICATION

AssureTec makes the world’s most advanced ID authentication system for identity documents such as passports, visas, driver’s licenses, military IDs, social security cards, alien registration cards, and so on.

AssureTec was founded in August 2001 and is headquartered in Manchester, New Hampshire, USA. AssureTec has offices in Washington, D.C., serving the U.S. Government market; London, U.K., serving the European market; and Singapore, serving Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.

AssureTec’s founding team introduced the world to automated identity document authentication using digital imaging techniques a decade earlier, as part of Imaging Automation, Inc. Many members of AssureTec’s core team have over a decade of experience each in document authentication technologies.

AssureTec , WITH ITS PARTNERS, OWNS KEY PATENTS IN ID AUTHENTICATION

Our realization that real-world identity documents are subject to many real-world problems such as wear-and-tear and varied production environments and conditions leading to minute variations even in authentic documents, has led us to create a powerful document authentication library that incorporates such variations. Together with our partners, we hold some of the key patents in this field. AssureTec’s core technology partners include Intelli-Check, IRIS Corporation Berhad (Malaysia), WiseCube (Korea), and Rochford-Thompson (UK).

AssureTec POWERS KEY GOVERNMENT INITIATIVES

On August 27, 2004, President Bush issued the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) mandating a common identification standard for federal employees and contractors. In response, the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) initiated the Federal Information Processing Standard 201 (FIPS-201), entitled Personal Identification and Verification of Federal Employees and Contractors (also known as the PIV standard). FIPS-201 designates the AssureTec Document Authentication Reader (the ID-300) as a key component of the enrollment workstation.

The Transportation Workers’ Identification Credential (TWIC) program, initiated by the Transportation Services Authority (TSA) and the U.S. Coast Guard, follow the FIPS-201 standard. As a direct result, AssureTec has been receiving orders from BearingPoint, a key systems integrator for TWIC, to be used in enrollment workstations securing U.S. ports. As the FIPS-201 standard is adopted by other U.S. federal agencies (a mandatory requirement) in the coming years, we expect this business to grow.

In late 2006, the General Services Administration (GSA), as part of their implementation of the HSPD-12, incorporated the AssureTec ID-150 product specification (without explicitly naming it) into their requirements.

AssureTec’s technology now powers the credentialing of workers and employees in airports and seaports, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the GSA. AssureTec’s technology is also used for Visitor Management at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) headquarters.

As a proud member of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) and the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA), AssureTec maintains close contact with state and provincial issuing authorities for driver’s licenses.

AssureTec STARTED IN BORDER CONTROL, BUT IS NOW MAKING INROADS INTO AUTOMOTIVE, GAMING, VISITOR MANAGEMENT, BANKING AND OTHER COMMERCIAL MARKETS

AssureTec’s first major implementation was the Chilean Border Control Project for Policia de Investigaciones de Chile in early 2004, implemented in collaboration with Unisys. Since then, AssureTec has secured many international customers including Border Management at Papua New Guinea and Macau, e-Passport Issuance at Singapore, Thailand, and Qatar. AssureTec also has commercial customers in the car rental, car dealership, gaming, and hospitality industries.

AssureTec SELLS TO VALUE-ADDED RESELLERS & SYSTEMS INTEGRATORS

AssureTec rarely sells to customers directly, preferring instead to approach markets through implementation and marketing partners. We focus on the core technology, the application development platform, and on helping our partners become successful.
